ITV is a British free-to-air television network, launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television. ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK.
The channel aired Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer nearly every Christmas from 1965 to 1970. Frosty the Snowman was shown on Christmas Eve 1976, followed by Frosty's Winter Wonderland on Boxing Day 1978.
The animated film The Last Unicorn was screened on Yorkshire and Tyne Tees many years later on Saturday 13 February 1993. London Weekend Television screened the film on 27 March 1993.
